Forms Of Gift Giving

In every celebration or occasion, gifts are never forgotten, Gifts are any object that is given to a person without expecting for a payment. It is a way of expressing one's love, friendship, gratitude, and many more. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmas, Graduation, Father's or Mother's Day, Engagements, Baby Shower, Weddings, and Housewarming Party are some of the example of occasions where normally gifts or presents are given. It has been a habit that gifts are wrapped in a wrapping paper with a note for that specific occasion and the receiver's name and givers name are also written. On the other hand, in Chinese culture, gifts are always wrapped in red because for them it means luck. So when you receive a gift wrapped in red, it only means that they have shared or passed on with you their Luck.

Kids or Children are usually the ones who receives gifts more often, even without any occasion, and usually in forms of money. Last month, my son's Godfather gave him money as a gift and he said to bu something for Janzen or we could eat at any restaurant or fast food chain. Since, my son cannot decide fro himself, I have decided to buy a new school shoes for him and we ate at his favorite fast food chain afterwards. He was very happy with his new shoes, and even brags about it to his teacher the following day. But we found out recently that his Godfather was admitted to a hospital because of dehydration, so we decided to visit him and brought along get well plants, we chose an aromatic lavender plant in purple ceramic container. Since lavender have some soothing and calming effect to relax him during his stay at the hospital.

Gifts are given in many forms and ways, but for me the real essence of gift-giving is that somehow you remembered the person and that you care enough to remember that special day or any occasion and gives something and not expecting anything in return.
