Leaving My Indoor Plants In The Office

Now, we are just counting the days for my expected date of delivery on my our second child. My Ob-Gyne advised that I should take my maternity leave and stay at home so that I could prepare for the big day. Mixed emotions are what I'm felling right now, I know that I have gone through this once with our first child, but I just can't help it. I'm still getting a bit nervous yet super excited to see our daughter. It has been 9 months that I have been carrying and caring for her in my womb. I actually have so many things to take care of before I leave the office. Making sure that my office desk are clean and all my work should be finish on time. Since, I have few office plants on my desk I decided to leave them to my co-workers welfare for the meantime. Having plants in the office has its benefits not only physically but psychologically as well.

Plants in the office offer more than aesthetic value. In fact, studies have shown that they help reduce stress, enhance employee attitudes, increase productivity and improve air quality. These interior plants offer business a simultaneously natural and beautiful addition to the interior while benefiting the overall well-being of their employees. Those are actually the reasons, why I love bringing these indoor plants at the office. They actually help me think and breathe better especially when I have a lot of things in mind. Little did we know, that plants offer visually-meditative experience, which ultimately leads to a happier and healthier employees. One of my low maintenance office plant, is the mixed succulents in textured aspen container, I decided to leave it to my closest friend. I know that the plant will definitely suit her personality.

I left her some maintenance instructions for the plant not to wither and die easily. Succulent plants are actually easy to take care of, since they are considered to be desert survivalist of the plant kingdom, plus they have these strong stems, roots and leaves which stores moisture and can withstand prolonged drought. Now, everything is already set in the office. I can have a peace of mind while I'm at home for my maternity leave.

Gardening Is For Children Also

My son has just turned 4 years old a few days ago. Kids would usually ask for a gift like toys or gadgets or accessories, but my son ask for a plant that we saw at a botanical garden when they had their educational trip yesterday. I was not so surprised hearing that he wanted to buy the butterfly zinnia garden in-a-pail as a gift. I know that he also wanted to have his own garden at our backyard. Ever since, we started gardening at home he has been curious about gardening stuff especially how plants grow and live. Gardening is actually a wonderful way for children to love science and they could develop a love of nature and build fine motor skills. He promised that he would take good care of the flowering plant and he will make sure that it will grow and blossom beautifully.

Without any hesitation, his father and I granted his birthday request. We bought the butterfly zinnia garden in-a-pail. He was so happy with the gift that he received that day and he immediately watered the plant and he put a little organic fertilizer in it. He can't seem to contain that happiness and couldn't sleep well last night. He kept on asking so may question about the plants and the life span of these plants and trees. He went to bed with those thoughts in mind. Children can learn new skills, have fun, play and develop self-confidence by spending time in the garden tending plants and growing their own food. Just like my son, most children enjoyed being outdoors and they also love digging in the soil, getting dirty, creating things and watching plants and animals grow.

People of all ages can enjoy gardening, but children in particular will have lots of fun and gain special benefits. They can learn about the science of plants, animals, weather and the environment and most of all about healthy eating. But also child safety in the garden is important. Make sure that you have the correct-sized tools for kids and keep away harmful chemicals as well as providing a safe storage for equipment and tools.

It's The Thought That Counts

Gifts are considered to be a blessing. Each time we receive gifts from someone we love or from a dear friend we feel thankful towards that person. The reason why gifts are considered to also be a blessing, it's because they are given without expecting something in return. It is given wholeheartedly not only during special occasions but it can be given even in normal days for no special reason. All gifts are meaningful and they are being kept and treasured as a remembrance from that special person. Most popular gifts are stuffed toys, flowers, chocolates and cute little figurines. But, how about giving something that grows with that special person. Nowadays, gifts that grow are becoming popular and is considered to have deep meaning to those who receives it.

Plants have many benefit to our health and environment. These plants are making it's way into special occasions nowadays. It has become popular and a more practical gift compared to cut flowers that will only last for 2 or 3 days. My husband's co-worker and a good friend of his as well, will be tying the knot next week. So as a congratulatory gift, we are thinking of giving them a double tier lucky bamboo tower.  The lucky bamboo is used to attract health, happiness, love and abundance. There are varieties of lucky bamboo arrangements, but the one that we choose has ten stalks which represents perfection in Feng shui. Even though they are easy to care for and a very tolerant plant, these lucky bamboo plants still needs your love and attention, as it likes to look good, just like we all do.

Gifts even big or small are considered to be equal in the eyes of the receiver. And they are not measured by how expensive the content or how glamorous the wrapper is, it's always the thought that counts.
