Honoring Our Mothers

Its the time of the year again, where we will be celebrating and honoring our mothers and motherhood, as well as maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. Mothers had always been a great part of our lives because I believe that they have the greatest sacrifices from the day that we were conceived. They had to bare the changes in their body because their is that tiny life living inside them that they need to protect for 9 long months. And when they finally gave birth to us, another chapter of motherhood is unveiled before them. They become too busy helping us grow and nurturing us and teaching us the right values and to fear and love God. Honoring them for a day and giving them gifts may not be able to pay all the sacrifices that they did for us but at least we will be able to say thank you and I love you in our small ways.

Taking them out for a day in spa and salons as well as eat at their favorite restaurants are just small ways to say that we truly appreciate what they did for us. Sending them cards, bouquet of flowers and their favorite food would also do, or for some, receiving a gift that grows would be the best. I once heard my mom said that she would rather choose to have a plant on a pot as a gift on mothers day because she wanted to see the plants grow everyday meaning my love for her also grows from day to day and that she'll make sure to take care of it in the best way she can. An Azalea Bonsai is one of her favorite plant because of this I will be sending her what she loved and this is also to cheer her up when she gets to miss us especially now that me and my other siblings have our own family. She will be able to grow these azalea bonsai indoors without any hassle.

It's all thanks to our Mom that now, we were able to teach our kids the same values that she instilled in our minds. But also not to forgot our ever supportive Father that has always been a solid foundation and breadwinner who never gets tired to push us in reaching for our dreams.
